How to Download Your Facebook Data You can download and store a copy of  your Facebook data on your computer. To begin first go to the  Facebook site on your browser. Sign in to Facebook. You can go to the upside-down triangle, click on Settings & Privacy, and then Settings. If you are not currently logged in,  you will be prompted to do so before  proceeding to your settings page. Click on Your Facebook Information on the left side of the page. You should see a Download  Your Information option there. Click on the blue word View  on the right-hand side. First you will need to select the file  options. I would leave this info unchanged. The most important is the Date range option. You can download all the info from a specific  date or from all the time you used the account. Now browse down through the list below and check  or uncheck any data that you do want to download. If you want your images, make  sure your Posts are checked. After you've selected everything, you'll  see the Request a download button. Then you'll see a notice saying that a copy of your data is being generated. The length of time it takes is determined by the  amount of data you have and the  amount you chose to download. If you decide not to proceed with the download,  click on the blue abort this procedure words. When your backup is ready for download,  Facebook sends you an email with a link. They'll send you an email with a link  to the Download Your Information page. Your download will appear in  the Available Copies section. It displays a summary of your request,  the file size, and the expiration date. You must download before that date  or restart the request entirely. Simply click the Download button and navigate to the place on your  hard drive where you want to save the archive. Please keep in mind that it may take up to a day before  you receive your email with the download link. After you will download the file you will be able to decompress it. When you decompress the ZIP file, you'll  see the contents, a bunch of folders,  and a file called index. When you double-click on that, your browser  will open a page called Personal information. Scan this page for clickable links  to the files you've downloaded.  If you want to get your  images, go to the Posts area. The decompressed folder will  contain the actual files. Look in the Post folder, then in the  Media folder, for images and videos. Each post appears to be in its own subdirectory.
